MY HEROES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN COWBOYS
Country music star Waylon Jennings joins more than 20 cowboys for the spring roundup at the 06 Ranch in West Texas, a 150-square mile ranch that still does roundup in the old way by camping out for more than a week on the range. Waylon reveals his love and respect for true cowboy culture by working alongside the 06 cowboys during the day and joining them around the campfire and chuck wagon at night to sing many of his best-known songs.
TIMELINE – THE BLACK DEATH
BLACK DEATH is the second of the six TIMELINE ‘history as news’ episodes produced for PBS by a consortium of international partners. The program focuses on the Black Death, the plague that first decimated populations around the world in 1346-53. Four reporters from different nations (Britain, Turkey, Africa & Spain) follow the path of contagion as plague returns for a second time in a generation to sweep west from Asia to devastate Europe.

TANGO, THE SPIRIT OF ARGENTINA
Filmed during a bitter Argentinean winter on the streets of Buenos Aires, this PBS performance special tells the story of Argentinean tango from its beginnings in the slums of Argentina in the 1800s to its present global success. Tango is the music of the night; moving backwards and forwards from theater stage to the streets where tango first developed, Argentina’s top tango singers, dancers and musicians perform many of tango’s ‘greatest hits’
SACRED JOURNEYS – LOURDES
SACRED JOURNEYS is a 6-hour PBS series that followed spiritual seekers on a series of journeys to great pilgrimage sites in Europe, India, Japan, the Middle East and Africa. In Hour One, male & female veterans of the Afghanistan & Iraq Wars travel on a pilgrimage to the Catholic shrine of Lourdes in France, seeking emotional, spiritual and physical relief from the wounds of war.
MARIACHI, THE SPIRIT OF MEXICO
This PBS special is hosted by Plácido Domingo and was filmed during the International Festival of Mariachi in Guadalajara, Mexico. A combination of theater gala and location performance, the program tells the story of mariachi and its impact on Mexican life and history through performances from three of the greatest mariachi bands in the world, Mariachi Vargas, Mariachi America and Los Camperos de Nati Cano.
IN SEARCH OF ANCIENT IRELAND
IN SEARCH OF ANCIENT IRELAND is the 3-hour series for PBS & RTE (Ireland). Program One – HEROES – looks at the origins of the Irish people and takes their story up to the coming of Christianity with St. Patrick & other European missionaries. Program Two – SAINTS – looks at the Christianization of Ireland into the ‘Land of Saints & Scholars’ while Program Three – WARLORDS – takes the story of Ireland from the Viking arrival to the Norman Invasion in the 12th Century.
COWBOY 101 – BULLDOGGING
COWBOY 101 is a 13-part documentary reality series, produced by Eaton Creative for OLN (the Outdoor Life Network). The series follows the successes and failures of a small West Texas college rodeo team during the fall semester of 2003. Episode 10 – BULLDOGGING – follows the members of the team for whom bulldogging; riding down a steer, wrestling it to the ground and making it immobile, is the best event in rodeo.
MISSION POSSIBLE, THE SHUTTLE ASTRONAUTS
An Investigative Reports program for A&E, this special follows the crew of STS101, NASA’s Shuttle Mission to complete work on the International Space Station (and eventually to boost the ISS from a decaying orbit back to a stable position), from crew selection to launch, and includes never previously filmed scenes of the US astronauts training with their Russian cosmonaut colleagues at Star City outside Moscow.
CLASSIC AMERICAN CARS OF CUBA
CLASSIC AMERICAN CARS OF CUBA follows a variety of different classic American cars and their drivers over a 48-hour period, set to American classic car songs of the period. This is the joyful and nostalgic story of an embargoed island and its classic cars that’s little known in the US.
